Californian-Balinese Style House for Events in Virelade

This house, built in 2023, has a Californian style with Balinese influences. Light wood is the main material used in this house, and it's this touch that we like to add throughout, to bring warmth.

This house is our first cocoon, we've been thinking about it and imagining it for several years, and every year we're keen to carry out new projects to embellish it and make it as warm and homely as possible.

As well as wood, we've added some lovely warm colours, such as pink, camel and mustard yellow. There are little wooden letters everywhere, because in my job I'm a big fan of pretty typography, letters that tell a story, a life, memories. We also have a few souvenirs from our travels and weekends in European capitals, discreet but present. I've also done a lot of DIY in this house, especially the picture frames and a few decorative elements. We really like raw materials, second-hand objects, anything that can tell a story and give life while being tidy. We did most of the finishing ourselves, so not everything is perfect, but then again, we have a story to tell.

We love travelling and surfing, my partner was a lifeguard a few years ago, and our biggest dream is to live by the sea. So we're bringing our little piece of the ocean into this house as best we can.
