Domaine de Valrose Theater

The Domaine de Valrose, considered one of the most beautiful properties on the Riviera during the Second Empire, is today a university campus, seat of the Côte d'Azur University and the Faculty of Sciences.
Classified as a Historic Monument, this exceptional site in the heart of an immense landscaped park constitutes one of the major elements of the Nice area, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The theater, completed in 1871, hosted concerts and operas commissioned by its music-loving owner, Baron Von Derwies.
Featuring a 140 m2 backstage area, this richly decorated rectangular space combined the intimacy of a private room with the acoustic and technical qualities of a real performance hall.
Adjoining the meeting and reception areas of the Grand Château, this exceptional setting is now equipped to accommodate 185 people in seminar and conference format.
