And like any major conference, numerous side events animated the city’s hotels, rooftops, and private beaches.

Among the companies present was **AltLayer,** specialized in customizable blockchains (rollups) for Web3 applications. Their goal: host conferences on trending topics and wrap up with a cocktail reception. Since the team was not very familiar with Cannes, they needed full support — from venue sourcing to audiovisual setup and on-site branding.

From the very first contact with the Native Spaces team, **the need was clear: a central and fully equipped venue** to host a full day of conferences followed by an evening cocktail.

The Ethereum Community Conference (ETHCC), one of the major events in the European Web3 scene, took place in Cannes for the very first time. From **July 1st to 5th, 2025**, the city welcomed a wave of blockchain, finance, and crypto professionals.

During this week, Kraken — one of the **world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange platforms** — wanted to take advantage of having so many key players gathered in the same city to host an event that reflected their brand identity. Their Paris-based team reached out to Native Spaces with a clear goal: to create an exclusive moment for their clients and partners.

Kraken ultimately decided on a **cocktail reception**. The event needed to be held on a private beach or an outdoor rooftop located in the heart of Cannes. The challenge: finding a flexible venue that could host **up to 150 guests**, from noon to 10 PM, with high-quality services (catering, music, DJ set) and the possibility to include some branded elements.

Since the budget was shared between several partners, every aspect of the event had to be **optimized without compromising the brand image**. The challenge was therefore as much about logistics as it was about aesthetics.

Inspired by Vincent Darré’s universe and located just a few minutes from the Palais des Festivals, this venue instantly won them over. It offered a private beach, a terrace, and a restaurant, all in a modular setting. The location also made it possible to host a **DJ set** and incorporate branding to boost the event’s visibility.

The cocktail reception exceeded all expectations. Far more people than anticipated attended, a clear sign of the strong interest generated by the event. This venue stood out immediately thanks to its **strategic advantages**:

The apartment became OpenX’s basecamp for the week: some rooms were transformed into **private meeting spaces** for key conversations, while the living area hosted **cocktails and networking sessions** each evening. The **25 m² terrace**, overlooking one of the busiest festival zones, allowed for **high-visibility branding**, boosting OpenX’s presence among Cannes Lions attendees.
